Blame games

Lack of Education and apart from the lack of Maturity in thinking has been exposed during 3 continuous days of torrential raining in Karachi and the whole province of Sindh. I am not saying this as I am also a Muslim but the matter of fact that some people here are wobbling that "Allah ka Azaab hai yeh, apny Aamaal ki maafi mango" transliteration: This is the curse of Allah, pray him for your forgiveness.

I say this is just one of the minute reasons, the majority of reasons are scattered on the grounds, which are being ignored and overlooked by us, including mismanagement, fore-seeing the problems already in the city, unnecessary encroachments and building infrastructures without planning, in rainy seasons we got to know how prematurely they were built, with no exit points for storm water drainages, plus taking no care of the slopes. I myself faced the catastrophe on Saturday when had to walk almost 19 kilometers on my foot as near Quaid-e-Azam Mazar where I was stranded as my bike magnet chamber was badly soaked with weeds and water, plus the water was flowing that way that it made me felt that I am not inside Karachi city but on the Karachi city beach. Therefore I just wanna say one thing to such people who're putting all their pathetic deeds on Allah that first check their own collars, as simple as that. If those people didn't support such janitor minded people allowed to take a pew on our heads, things would not been that bad.

I am not fan of comparison all the time but lets see the example of Sri Lanka for instance, those who've been there would agree how much it rains there and in Southern India, although corruption prevails there as well, but they have worked really hard on their drainage systems as well, instead of playing musical chair games of shifting and modifying the blames, they could had worked on the drainage systems of atleast Karachi city, 2006-07 than 2009 and now 2011, within 5 years we had 3 instances of such catastrophic situation in the province and in the city itself, so is it to be blamed to Almighty Allah or should we also check our own collars where we're headed to??

I want to be neutral on this arena but I've to admit and confess that during the era and regime of Former Mayor Karachi Mustafa Kamal when such thing happened, he took prompt actions, bulldozing encroachments on the most posh' areas of Karachi like Clifton and DHA areas which were heavily politicized encroachments but he took such prompt actions and result of which was that next years i.e. in 2007 and 2008, the situation was not that bad and within hours the flow of traffic was resumed on the busiest routes of Karachi, I myself experienced on thing when I was stuck in Urdu Bazaar which is in the center of Saddar Town, that time my mommy called me saying not to take NIPA route, it takes 15 minutes on normal circumstances for me to reach NIPA from Urdu Bazaar, that day took 1 hour and 15 minutes approximate but by that time NIPA was all cleared and their tractors and machineries were packing up their work, keeping in mind that time there were work going on at NIPA bridge like making it a signal free zone and installation of pedestrian crossings, that work was also going on and apart from that cleaning up the mess due to rain, simultaneously. When this city is giving so much to everyone than why can't we give this city, only some of our contribution?

We're totally illiterate although on paper we have degrees like MBA's, BBA's, BS, MS etc but our thinking is like of that person who sells fruit, lets be honest we don't have the manners of what possessed by "Literate People", we run from acquiring education, than we expect to have forgiveness on behalf of the Holy Prophet (Peace be Upon Him), whose very first Wahi was to Read. On what grounds are we going to even face him when we're so pathetic in our thinking, we're hypocrite, we're thieves, we're selfish and we don't think for others when there's some advantage for us, not we take care of such things that how he/she'd be feeling when we'd be showing off in front of that person!!! I just want to ask these "honourable" politicians one single and simple thing, that it's said that a responsibility falls onto your shoulders when you acquire a higher seat, than why aren't you not fulfilling the responsibilities come with that seat? Is politics and the political party more important that fulfilling your responsibility? Are we living in the era of Socialism, where government was responsible for each and everything, no one could acquire even a piece of land within the limit, or Capitalism where capitalists ruled the economy or is it mixed economy system, where Government plays the role of monitoring authority? The fault lies here, which is being diverted by saying it's a curse from heavens. Although I'm and I'll be admitting this, it is a clear indication from up-heavens to keep our accounts clear but saying it's just because of curse from heaven and nothing else is hypocrisy.

Sorry if I used tough language, but people around me are acting weird saying holy crap etc. Were we ready with tackling such situation? Are we utilizing the young population in the country with their innovative ideas and capabilities? Have we expanded the education level? It's a lamest of excuse that because of Security conditions both within the country and with India, we can't invest in education, you say India, the Indian education level is much better than us, their publishers' printed books are being taught here, they're also in state of war with us, but equally they've been more sincere to their nation than our leaders.

Take care and remember me in your prayers!
